Awesome Paws Rescue

Awesome Paws Rescue is a dedicated, volunteer-based, no-kill rescue focused on saving dogs from overcrowded shelters and those at risk of euthanasia. Our Mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs in need, providing them with a second chance at life.​

Thinking of adding a new family member? Our adoption process is designed to place our dogs with loving homes, ensuring you and your new pet are a good fit! No need to have a particular dog in mind when starting the process - we are excited to pre-approve you so when the right fit comes along, you'll be ready

We coordinate and transport dogs from various southern state high-kill shelters and bring them to Buffalo, where the dogs stay in the homes of foster families until they are adopted. While our primary focus is on southern shelter dogs, we also support saving local dogs in need, ensuring that no dog is left behind. All of our rescues are getting reacquainted to “home life” in foster care, where they can receive individual attention and their personalities are given a chance to truly shine. Through fostering we are able to provide a more comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for the dogs to learn new tricks and remember what it feels like to be loved once again if not for the first time ever!

We Are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and as such, we rely solely on donations to support our mission. Awesome Paws Rescue does not receive any government funding—federal, state, or local—and it is thanks to the generosity of our supporters that we are able to provide these dogs with the care, medical attention, and love they deserve. Every dollar donated goes directly to the care and transportation of our animals, with no overhead costs or paid staff.

Our volunteers are the backbone of our rescue, and we are incredibly grateful for their unwavering dedication. Our foster families open their hearts and homes to help these dogs transition to a new life. They are the vital link between a dog’s past and their bright future. We also rely on volunteers for events and adoption applications, and we welcome any level of involvement that fits your schedule. Volunteering is a meaningful way for families to make a difference together, and we’re always in need of passionate individuals who want to help!
